Privacy Policy

This policy explains what The Contractor Playbook collects when you use this site, why, and what you can do about it. It's written to be read, not to be impressive.

Who runs this site

This site is operated by The Contractor Playbook, a sole proprietorship based in the United States, reachable at hello@contractorplaybookpro.com.

What I collect

• Information you give me. If you fill in a form — the checklist download, the calculator opt-in, or the contact form on the services page — I receive whatever you typed. That's typically your name and email, and on the services form, your company, phone, market, crew size and what you're trying to fix.
• Information collected automatically. Google Analytics records standard web analytics: pages viewed, roughly where you are (city level), what kind of device you're on, and which site sent you here. This is aggregate and I don't use it to identify you personally.
• What I don't collect. No payment details are taken on this site. No accounts, no passwords. The bid calculator runs entirely in your browser — the numbers you type into it are never sent anywhere and are gone when you close the tab.

Why I collect it

• To send you the thing you asked for (checklist, templates, tools).
• To reply to you if you contacted me about building a website.
• To occasionally send articles or new tools, if you opted in.
• To see which articles are worth writing more of.

Who else sees it

I don't sell, rent or trade your information. It is shared only with the services that make the site run:

• Netlify — hosts the site and stores form submissions.
• Google Analytics — traffic measurement.
• Anyone I'm legally required to disclose to, which has never happened and I don't expect it to.

Affiliate links

Some links here go to products I recommend, and I may earn a commission if you buy. Those links are marked and pass through a /go/ redirect on this site so I can count the clicks. The redirect records that a click happened — not who you are. Full details on the affiliate disclosure page.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits from new ones. You can block or delete them in your browser and the site will work exactly the same. You can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's still no agreed standard for what a site should do with it, and this site does not currently change its behavior in response to one. If you don't want analytics collected, use the opt-out add-on above or block cookies.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe — every email has an unsubscribe link, or just reply and say stop. I'll remove you within 10 business days at the outside, usually the same day.
• See what I have on you, or have it deleted — email me and I'll do it. You don't need to give a reason, and depending on where you live you may have a legal right to this regardless.
• Correct it — same thing, just email me.

California residents

If you live in California you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, request its deletion, and not be discriminated against for asking. I don't sell personal information as that term is defined under California law, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. To exercise any of this, email me.

How this is kept

Form submissions sit in Netlify's dashboard and my email. I keep them as long as they're useful and delete them when they aren't. No system is perfectly secure, but there's nothing sensitive here — no payment data, no passwords.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version goes up on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes affecting how I use your information will be sent to anyone on the email list.
